Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, All Hallows Eve, or Samhain! Whatever you prefer to call it, if you work in a place like I do, then you probably are not allowed to wear a costume. Therefore, in an attempt to not look like a boring government worker/ bureaucrat I just stuck with some Halloween colors for today: orange, black, and purple. Also, sorry for the ugly work bathroom picture, I have a long day ahead of me and this is the best I could do for now.

My Hiatus

Where have I been? The question should be where haven't I been?! The month of October was full of travel for work and for play. Today I am just posting some pictures of my journeys to Boston, Madison, and Los Angeles.  More outfit photos will be up soon!

Packing Preparation:
New luggage for my birthday and my travels
First thing packed for a long work trip- My yoga mat. Everyone needs relaxation time on a trip.
Trying to fit everything into a carry-on? Consolidate make-up  and creams into contact lens cases.
Closet at my work conference in Madison.
What I packed for my trip to my alma mater's homecoming in  Los Angeles.
What I wore while traveling:

Layers are essential, especially when traveling from Denver to Los Angeles and there is a 70 degree temperature difference.

Sights:
Wisconsin Capitol

Cape Cod

Girls just wanna have fun
I missed Los Angeles!

Airport Dining
Now, back to work. More work outfit photos, as well as outfit photos from my trips, to come soon.

Day Dreaming

I know I've been MIA this week, but due to some issues with a broken camera and trading up phones is losing some valuable outfit pictures. Oh technology...

So, since I'm still sticking to my 90 day challenge, I am dreaming up items I will buy in about a month once it is over. Everything pictured below is from Forever 21.

Obviously I really want a navy blue skirt, a coral skirt, and some more flats (and possibly some mint tights). Heels kill my feet on the marble floors of the capitol, so I think having a wide array of flats may be the only way to save my feet this upcoming legislative session.

What items do you want to add to your work wardrobe?

Keep dreaming, the weekend is so close!

"On Wednesdays We Wear Pink"

I should have posted this on October 3rd...

Someone out there has to get that joke. Anyhow, this is another repeat of a fabulous outfit I threw together last week after waking up 20 minutes late... oops.

*Yes, I carry a lot of bags to work...

Outfit details: Shirt, skirt, and belt- Forever 21; Shoes- Wet Seal; Watches and bracelets- A combination of gifts, homemade, and Target; Necklace- gift; Earrings- Target; "Cardigan" (see below)- Target.

So, I worked in restaurants for 10 years. That means I amassed a lot of uniforms. One that was constant at many of the restaurants I worked at was wearing all black skin-tight clothing. Awesome, right? NOT. I got so used to looking like ninja everyday...

So, recently ( in conjunction with my 90 day challenge) I have been converting old white oxford button-up shirts to more stylish versions with black lace and satin details (photos to come later). I also have been cutting these old crew neck long sleeve shirts that I have from target straight up the center to make light-weight cardigans. Repurposing old clothes is becoming quite the hobby.

Week of Repeats

I'm spending this week hopping planes all over the country. So, I will be featuring outfits I have worn in the past, but I never posted pictures of them. Notice I don't post outfit photos every single day? That doesn't mean I don't take pictures of them, it just means I am saving them for later... like when I have to go from Colorado to Boston, back to Colorado for 24 hours, then to Wisconsin and I don't have time to post.

Also, if the photos below look strange, it's because they had to be HEAVILY edited. I feel like a total fraud "fixing" my photos but I was dumb for buying a "new age fabric" skirt that wicks moisture away. Well, the damn thing also wrinkles within 5 minutes of sitting down and there is NO WAY to get the wrinkles out. The label says, "Do not wash, do not dry, do not dry clean, do not iron."  Then HOW IN THE HELL am I supposed to clean this stupid skirt?! Gigantic fail on my behalf. Next time I will read the care instructions label before I purchase a skirt with a "different" and soft fabric and end up looking like a hot mess all day at work because of a ton of wrinkles.

Outfit Details- Shirt, bracelets, necklace, and belt- Forever 21; Skirt- Love21 (Forever 21)... soon to be sold to a consignment store; Earrings- Target; Shoes- Old Navy.

So my photoshop skills are not spectacular... in fact I don't even own photoshop, but I did my best with Google+ tools to make this skirt look how it did when I put it on, before I sat down...
